Fruit Infused Water
One of the best parts of summer is being able to enjoy fresh seasonal summer fruits. From seasonal summer berries like strawberries and raspberries to fresh plums, cherries and mango, we have a whole host of foods to enjoy at this time of year. One of the best parts about it being sunny out is that we have a valid excuse to drink fruity drinks! And we don’t just mean poolside cocktails! Fruit infused water is a great way to flavour your water whilst getting antioxidants and nutrients into your diet! You can quickly and easily add a few lemon slices with a few sprigs of mint into your bottle of water to give a fresh, fruity taste. Or why not try cucumber or strawberry? There are endless combinations to try.
Organise an Office BBQ
Get grilling! Ask your boss about organising an office barbecue. Ask your colleagues to contribute with their favourite dish, side or drink! It’s a great way to get everyone involved and it gets you out to relax and enjoy the summer weather! It is also a great way to socialise with your colleagues outside of office and workplace stresses and constraints. So why not enjoy a burger and a beer with your colleagues this summer away from the daily stresses of the office.
Brighten Up Your Desk
It’s no surprise that colours can really affect our mood and as a result our work ethic and productivity. So why not inject some bright summer colours into your desk? It could be as simple as adding a brightly coloured plant in a coloured pot or even by adding a bright picture frame! By making a small change like this, we can really help our work-related stress levels. By being in a more relaxed and comfortable office environment, we tend to feel calmer and more organised- helping us to take on a long day in the office. So bring the summer to your desk and brighten things up a bit- you will feel much more energised and happy.
Bring in Ice-Cream or Ice Pops for the Office
Why not think about bringing in ice cream or ice pops for the office freezer? You can buy them or even make them yourself! Ice pops are a great way to cool down during hot summer days, and they often contain less calories than ice cream if you’re trying to be super healthy this summer! Get social and offer them to your colleagues. If you have a few extra minutes you could grab one and enjoy it outside in the sun- a nice break from a stressful day in the office!
Get Outside at Least Once a Day
Fresh air and sun can do your mind and body the world of good. So why not go for a quick walk outside? Step outside for a break during the day- you’ll feel great and you’ll get some fresh air and vitamin D! why not think about bringing one of your meetings outside? Companies like Google and Microsoft swear by these as it helps to get their employees into the fresh air and more active for a few extra minutes during their day. Known as ‘’Walk and Talks’’ these really are a great way to get out and get a bit more active during your day. This is a simple trick that will improve your efficiency and help you to feel more energised to finish the rest of your day.
